It’s such a special time when your children start school, and our Youth Programs (YP) are ready to help meet their needs before and after school. Our goal is to support your child’s development by offering high-quality programs that help build positive relationships with peers and caring adults. We provide sports and recreational activities that focus on building self-esteem, developing appropriate relationships, facilitating academic success, and making healthy choices. Take a look below at all the offerings we have available!
TYPES OF CARE PROVIDED
School Age Care (SAC) programs provide quality out-of-school activities for children in kindergarten through 12 years old. Our programs are designed to enhance rather than duplicate the school day, and we work with dynamic organizations such as the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and 4-H to offer the best programming. Programs vary by installation, so check with your local installation for details.
Before School: Often times you need to be at work before the school day starts, and our before-school services are there to help. Transportation may be offered through your local installation.
After School: When the kids are out of school but you’re still at work, take advantage of our after-school activities. Transportation may be offered through your local installation.
Holiday/Summer Camps: During those holiday breaks or long summer sessions, we’ve got activities to keep your children engaged.
*Navy SAC programs are DoD certified and nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA).
Once your child moves into the preteen and teen stage, we know schedules get busy. Our Teen Programs not only offer fun learning activities that go above and beyond the regular school day, but they also provide a sense of community and a social outlet. These programs are affiliated with Boys & Girls Clubs of America and often feature 4-H programming. Our Teen Programs can provide that important opportunity for teens to mature socially and emotionally while focusing on character development, leadership skills, communication, and self-esteem.
Hours of operation will vary based on an installation’s needs and requirements, teen input, transportation, and established self-care policies.
We’ve teamed up with the National Alliance for Youth Sports to offer amazing sports and fitness opportunities for youth 3 to 18 years old. Youth Sports and Fitness (YSF) programs are designed to help families balance the demands of family life and Military readiness by providing opportunities for youth to engage in rewarding physical activity and exposing them to positive lifestyle behaviors. These programs typically occur after school, on weekends, or during other times when school is not in session (i.e., summer/winter breaks).
Sports: Sports opportunities are offered in leagues, camps, clinics, or instructional class formats. Sports activities are supported by a combination of on-base and community partnerships. Team sports (e.g., baseball, soccer, flag football, etc.) are organized into age-appropriate groupings.
Fitness: Fitness opportunities include jujitsu, gymnastics, fitness challenges, swimming, etc.
Health and Nutrition: Health and nutrition activities include learning to make healthy snacks, gardening, anti-smoking and drug prevention campaigns, home alone safety programs, and self-esteem building activities.
Outdoor Recreation: Outdoor recreation opportunities include hiking, kayaking, camping, and other outdoor activities.
Motor Skill Development: Motor skill development activities are offered in instructional formats for children ages 3 to 5 years, and are supported by a combination of on-base and community partnerships.
Join your community and celebrate throughout the year! Whether in support of U.S. Military holidays, local or installation-specific holidays, your entire family will love these events. Be sure to check in with your local installation so you don't miss out!
